LUKOIL tested a new well completion method after hydraulic fracturing — successful implementation of Clean Well technology

The new technology makes it possible to restore bottom hole after hydraulic fracturing by destroying proppant plugs without creating circulation in wells with low reservoir pressure.

Syktyvkar, July 9 – IA Neftegaz.RU.  LUKOIL has successfully tested clean well technology at its fields in the Komi Republic and Western Siberia.
This was reported LUKOIL.

The new method has been tested in fields where hydraulic fracturing is used to stabilize hydrocarbon production and intensify inflows (hydraulic fracturing) – on Vozeyskiy, Usinsky and Kyrtaelskoye deposits, as well as Potochnoye and Povkhovskoye.

Equipment used in clean technology wells, allows you to restore the bottomhole after hydraulic fracturing, destroying proppant plugs without creating circulation in wells with low reservoir pressure.
The use of technology helps to extract the destroyed particles with minimal negative impact of the working fluid on bottomhole formation zone.
The advantage of the technology is in reducing the work time of well workover crews, as well as in reducing the costs of normalizing and cleaning the bottom of wells.

Proppant Removal into the well after hydraulic fracturing is a serious problem.
The result of proppant flow can be higher cost of repair operations, increased time for their implementation, as well as safety problems.
In low-rate wells, proppant can deposit in the casing, requiring periodic flushing.
The result may be a loss of near-wellbore conductivity with a complete cessation of production in the event of a complete overlap of the productive zone.
Removal of the carried out proppant can be associated with significant costs.

The new clean well method ensures earlier well commissioning after a workover.
The technology will be used at a number of LUKOIL fields in Western Siberia and Timan-Pechora provinces.
